COVID UPDATE 3/16/2022: At JDRF, protecting the health and safety of our Gala guests, donors, volunteers and staff remains a top priority as we prepare to come together in person to advance the mission we all share. JDRF has analyzed recent COVID-19 data and trends and there has been a decrease in the number of COVID-19 cases around the country. For this reason, JDRF has made the decision to discontinue the proof of vaccination and/or negative COVID test requirement for attendees of the 2022 Gala.

Individuals who wish to wear masks at any of our JDRF events are encouraged and welcome todo so. For the health and safety of everyone, event attendees experiencing signs of illness are kindly asked to stay home. If you have any questions, please contact Courtney Garvey. With your continued support, we move closer to curing T1D every day. Thank you!

The JDRF Gala is one of the premiere social and charitable events in Fort Worth, with a reputation of elegance, excellence, and fun!  This year’s gala, to be held Saturday, April 2, 2022, will help make the dream of turning type one into type none a reality.

Under the leadership of Gala Chairs, Andrea and J.W. Wilson, the 2022 JDRF Gala will honor Bonnie and Alan Petsche, and will take place at the Fort Worth Zoo.  Bonnie and Alan Petsche co-founded the JDRF Fort Worth-Arlington chapter after their two year old daughter Kate was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 1994. From that moment on, the Petsches jumped in with incredible passion and started the chapter’s first Gala in 1995, named BBQ at the Ballpark, held at the Texas Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.  From the first BBQ at the Ballpark in 1995 to today, the family has generously given of their time and resources to impact the diabetes community.
